Galvanised sheet
Galvanised sheet is a steel sheet that has undergone a hot immersion process that 100% coats )coats it with zinc )the sheet with zinc, in order to prevent corrosion. The zinc coating chemically joins the steel base by means of a metallurgical chemical reaction between the zinc and the steel at 450ºC.
On removing the steel from the bath several surface layers of zinc-iron alloy are formed on which the zinc has solidified. These are harder than the steel base. The treatment must be in accordance with ISO 1461 (Galvanised iron and steel coatings).
